The Tenth District Court of Appeals employs three Magistrates.  The Magistrates are licensed attorneys, who are responsible for conducting special proceedings on behalf of the court.  These proceedings begin when a person, who is called a relator, files a complaint seeking a writ of mandamus.  Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 2731.01, a writ of mandamus is an order issued by this Court in the name of the state, "to an inferior tribunal, a corporation, board, or person, commanding the performance of an act which the law specially enjoins as a duty resulting from an office, trust, or station."  To learn more about the Magistrates of the Court, click on their photo below.
